Café, 237 Taylor Street. We will have a champagne reception, broadcast
the Oscars® live, serve a six-course gourmet dinner, conduct an auction,
etc. (Really - Its an excuse to dress-up!)
But what you may not have hear is that film connoisseur supreme, top
movie blogger, and frequent host and moderator at our film festivals,
Warren Etheredge of TheWarrenReport.com , will host live worldwide, interactive
coverage of the Academy Awards® for BuddyTV.com from the gala.
At BuddyTV ’s website fans from all over the world gossip, chat,
and connect with other fans around their favorite TV shows. Warren is
one of BuddyTV’s "Television Jockeys" or TVj’s.
He’ll moderate the Oscar® broadcast for fans with live audio,

backdrop. Of course, gala guests can even interact with him and online
fans if they so choose.
Most importantly BuddyTV will broadcast the What If… speech over
the Internet for the gala’s grand finale. The speech winner gets

Next Up The Player – March 8, 2007
The Port Townsend Film Institute and the Upstage Theatre and Restaurant
will present the second installment of our 3X Altman series of Robert
Altman’s films as a dinner and a movie package on Thursday, March
8.
A masterful Hollywood riff, The Player, stars Tim Robbins, Greta Scacchi,
Fred Ward, Peter Gallagher, Whoopi Goldberg, Lyle Lovett, and Dean Stockwell.
In this celebrated film, a studio script screener gets on the bad side
of a writer by not accepting his script. The writer is sending him threatening
postcards. The screener tries to identify the writer in order to pay
him off so he'll be left alone, and then in a case of mistaken identity
gone awry, he accidentally gives the writer solid ammunition for blackmail.
The plot is written on a backdrop of sleazy Hollywood deals and several
subplots involving the politics of the industry.
Mike Kaplan will introduce the Altman film. He worked with Altman
on several films in a variety of capacities including as an actor. He
appeared at the Port Townsend Film Festival with a 20th anniversary presentation
of a film he produced in 1986, The Whales of August,
Dinner is served at 6:30 pm with the film beginning promptly at 8 o’clock.
Dinner and movie tickets are $25 each. Call PTFF 360-379-1333 for tickets.
(Movie-only tickets will be sold at the door for $10 on a space available
basis at 7:30 pm.)
It is never to early or too late to volunteer for the Port Townsend Film Festival. Earn hours now toward your volunteer pass. We could use your help with The Envelope, Please gala, data entry, poster distribution, and press releases. If you want to learn more about any of these jobs please complete our online 2007 volunteer registration form or call Nancy at the office.
