Peter PanPeter Pan

Following last year's sold-out performance of four silent comedies with live music, this year the Rose Theatre and the Port Townsend Film Institute
present the 1924 silent classic "Peter Pan."

Pianist Donald Sosin once again returns to the Rose from New York to accompany this timeless classic, and screenwriter Stewart Stern ("Rebel Without a Cause," "Sybil") will introduce the movie with personal reminiscences of actress Betty Bronson.

Bronson stars at Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up, charms Wendy and her brothers to fly with him to Never Never Land.  On this island
of dreams and magic, they struggle to rescue the Lost Boys from Captain Hook (Ernest Torrence) and his band of pirates, encountering along the way the delightful fairy Tinkerbell (Virginia Browne Faire), a man-eating crocodile, and a band of valiant Indians (led by Anna May Wong).

This memorable adaptation - which in turn inspired later film versions of the story - features a delightful cast, remarkable special effects by Roy
Pomeroy, and beautiful photography by legendary cinematographer James Wong  Howe ("The Thin Man").

*Sunday, January 28; 2 shows: 12:30 & 4:00; Adults $14, Children (12 & under) $7.

Tickets available at the Rose box office or on line at www.rosetheatre.com.
