- Look for some German comedies (that's not an oxymoron. German filmmakers are abandoning, or at least setting aside, that sturm und drang that occupied many of their movies in the last half of the 20th century).
- The first of three submission deadlines (spaced so that we don't get them all at once) comes up Friday with more than 110 entries. That's about one-third of what we'll most likely receive by the final deadline on May 15.
- The selection committee will be attending two additional festivals to seek out films--Philadelphia and San Francisco.
RUMOR ALERT!
There's a bit of active gossip virus-ing about town that a famous movie actress has bought property in Port Townsend. Since her sole purpose in locating here is as a hide-away, we won't reveal her name. Besides, we don't know who the hell it is, for sure. Some say it's an urban legend, others claim they know someone who...
We first heard the rumor last fall, but at that time it was a director ("not Spielberg") who had found PT irresistible. Since this appears to be a transexual rumor, perhaps it's Felicity Huffman. Stayed tuned. (Or tell us what you know, we can keep a secret!)
