Second Clue Given in Film Fest Contest

A second clue in the Port Townsend Film Festival's "guess-the-guest" contest may either offer clarifying information or add to the mystery.

With the first clue released last week, no one had correctly guessed the identity of the 2005 guest who will be featured at the annual Saturday night event called "A Very Special Evening with..."

The second clue reads:

Characters' dilemmas: Half tourist, half traveler; dinosaur exploiter.

The first clue, released last week, was: Roles include a superhero sibling, western army man

"We are continuing to offer cryptic clues, offering riddles instead of easily-found quotations," according to Peter Simpson, director of the festival. "Two years ago, we had a correct identification within half an hour of the first clue's release, by someone who entered the information into an internet search engine and quickly found the answer."

"The contest is designed for people who know movie trivia," Simpson said in releasing the second clue.

The winning contestant will be selected at random from among those who correctly identify the name of the guest by Monday, August 1. The winner will be introduced and have his or her photograph taken with the guest at a special reception during the festival.

Entries can be made in one of three ways:

  1. By mail (Port Townsend Film Festival, PO Box 594, Port Townsend, WA 98368),
  2. By email (contest@ptfilmfest.com, write "Guest" in the subject line),
  3. By hand-delivery (Port Townsend Film Festival office, Mount Baker Block, 211 Taylor St., Suite 16, second floor, at the corner of Water and Taylor Streets).

In addition to listing the name of the guest, contestants should include their mailing address, email address (if they have one), and a daytime phone number.
