2006 Award Winners
PTFF
began awarding cash prizes to films submitted in the festival's
competitive program in 2004 thanks to a generous contribution by the
Port Townsend Paper Corporation. In 2006 Alpha Cine Forde Labs became another honored donor.

The judges of the Port Townsend Film Festival announced their top four picks for best in show at a Gala Champagne Breakfast Sunday morning September 17, 2006. While the festival strives for quality in every film, the awards were given to select features that stood out in their field.
- Best Feature-length Narrative $2,500 - "Drum Bun" (translated as Bon Voyage) directed by Robert Ralston
- Best Feature-length Documentary $2,500 - "The Cats of Mirikitani" directed by Linda Hattendorf
- Best Short Feature Documentary $1,000 - "Fisher Poets" directed by Jennifer Winston
- Best Short Narrative $750 - "Stars" directed by Eoghan Kidney
- Best Short Documentary $750 - "Escape Velocity" directed by Scott Ligon
Select Awards
This year PTFF has introduced two new awards: the special Jury Prize and the Audience Favorite. The Audience Favorite is determined by film ballots and calculated during the festival after each film has had at least one screening. The awards for these prizes are gift certificates for services at the world-renown Alpha Cine Forde Labs.
- Jury Prize $2,000 - "Say I Do" the first feature directed by Ron Vignone
- Audience Favorite $2,000 - "Independent America" the documentary directed by Hanson Hosein
