Filmmakers call for entry opens on January 7, 2012!
The 13th Annual PORT TOWNSEND FILM FESTIVAL (PTFF) (2012 Festival - September 21-23) brings together a wonderful community of film lovers in historic downtown Port Townsend each fall. Filmmakers are at the center of the PTFF community, and enjoy 3 days of VIP treatment, educational workshops, free lodging, transportation to and from local airports, exclusive receptions and parties, and the enthusiastic hospitality of the entire Festival staff.
Our 2011 Best Narrative Feature Winner, (HELLO LONESOME) is up for an Indie Spirit Award for Best First Feature under $500,000. Way to go, Adam Reid! PTFF alumni frequently earn great distinction in the industry, including Academy Award-winner Zana Briski (BORN INTO BROTHELS); PTFF Best Documentary Award-winner Linda Hattendorf (THE CATS OF MIRIKITANI) who proceeded to win over 15 additional awards; and J.J. Kelly (PADDLE TO SEATTLE).
We think Donovan Cook sums up what filmmakers feel about PTFF: "Your festival is what a filmmaker dreams about when they are killing themselves to make a film." Says John Will, producer of THE TROUBLE WITH BLISS, writes, "Thanks so much for an amazing time, can't wait to come back with my next movie!" He shared a sneak preview of his film, now in general theatrical release.
After winning the PTFF 2010 Audience Choice Award, Mark & Christine Bonn wrote: We had such an amazing time at Port Townsend I can't even begin to put it into words. PTFF is definitely a "Destination Film Festival" and we will tell everyone we know that they MUST enter their films there! Everyone was so stupendous, from the volunteers and staff to all the townsfolk. It is unbelievable how much fun we had and how many wonderful memories we have taken away with us! Thank you just doesn't seem like enough, but – THANK YOU!!!
WINGS OF SILVER: THE VI COWDEN STORY
One of the truly great highlights of PTFF is the picturesque Victorian town of Port Townsend itself, which comes alive when an entire street is closed off for the Festival, providing the easy access to PTFF's central venues, public Q&As, and even an outdoor theater used for showcasing films each evening under the stars.
Port Townsend Film Festival requires paperless entries submitted via The International Film Festival Submission System -- Click here or on the Web at Withoutabox.com.
