The Institute
The Festival is produced as the primary activity of the Port Townsend Film Institute. The Institute provides our not-for-profit status so your generous donations can be tax deductible. The Institute is built upon a principle mission statement which we have paraphrased here to make it more readable and, frankly, inspiring.

Produce Film Festivals that bring independent films and filmmakers to our entire community and the communities we touch through our families, schools, government and community organizations. Make a place for everyone to enjoy and be inspired.

Produce learning events where those of us with a bit of talent, curiosity and desire can work and learn with more experienced artists in the vast field of practice necessary for creating stories with media. •

Produce public events which showcase the work of amateur filmmakers. Help get these rich talents onto everyone's screen. •

Sponsor, promote, gather and curate an archive of narrative and documentary film from the story makers in our own Pacific Northwest.
